Provenance & Details
Doug Graf founded and designed the Retro-Vette, whose first official example debuted publicly at the 2004 SEMA show.
Classic Reflection Coachworks modified this Corvette in 2007 in the style of a 1962 Corvette. A Classic Reflection Coachworks tag on the front frame rail identifies an August 2007 build date and build number 32.
The factory fiberglass exterior panels have been replaced with red carbon-fiber bodywork styled after a C1 Corvette. Exterior details include a black convertible soft top, chrome bumpers and trim, and C1-style Corvette badging.
The car rides on 18-inch SSR GT-10 wheels fitted with 265/35 Michelin Pilot Sport front tires and 275/35 Michelin Pilot Sport rear tires. Power comes from a 5.7-liter LS1 V8 factory rated at 350 horsepower and 375 lb-ft of torque when paired with the manual gearbox. The LS1 sends power to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox and limited-slip differential. The six-speed manual transmission has a spring-centering shift lever near the third/fourth-gear plane and incorporates a 1-to-4 fuel-economy shift-light mode under specified operating conditions. Traction control and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes provide contemporary chassis-control and braking hardware. The cabin is equipped with two power-adjustable red leather bucket seats with CRC-embroidered backrests, driver-seat memory, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, and a CD stereo with Bose sound. A head-up display can project speed, tachometer, turn-signal, high-beam, shift-light, oil-pressure, coolant-temperature, and fuel-level information ahead of the driver. The instrument panel includes a 200-mph speedometer, tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level.
This CRC Retro-Vette pairs carbon-fiber, C1-inspired coachwork and period-style exterior detailing with the LS1 V8, six-speed manual transmission, and equipment of a 2004 Corvette convertible.
